EEE Keyboard Out in October?
August 28, 2009 by moto
The tech world has been terribly excited about the new Asus Eee Keyboard PC since the first pictures of it started to leak out several months back. Since then, we’ve had delay after delay, primarily due to the fact that Asus isn’t quite sure how to market this peculiar machine. The Eee Keyboard is a full-sized keyboard with a 5” touchscreen where the numpad would normally be. Inside the keyboard is an Atom 270 processor and a 32 GB SSD.

If you’re anything like me, the Eee Keyboard sounds like pretty much the best thing ever. It has HDMI-out, which means you’ll be able to store video on this thing, and transfer it over to whatever TV you happen to be in front of at the time without much hassle. I could see this keyboard replacing a lot of media boxes in the near future. And I do mean near; Digitimes reports that this hot little gadget “should” be ready as early as October.
For price they expect $400-500 US. The specs have been confirmed as well; a 1.6 Ghz Atom processor, 1 GB of Ram, 16/32 GB SSDs, WiFi, and a wireless HDMI dongle. If you aren’t squealing with glee right now, you don’t have the right to call yourself a gadget nerd.
